Petaling Jaya, 8 Nov: Perodua has announced that the All-New Myvi will open bookings beginning 9 November, paving the way for a new standard to grace Malaysian roads.
Priced from RM44,300 (without insurance), the All-New Myvi takes its hallmarks of Modern technology, Youthful design, Versatile space and Intelligent safety to an all-new level.
It is also the first vehicle in its price range in Malaysia to introduce a suite of advanced safety features. More convenience features and equipment are offered than ever before, without compromising its trademark value for money and quality.
“The All-New Myvi represents everything we stand for at Perodua. It is the culmination of years of hard work and manufacturing experience, listening to our customers and continuously improving on our products based on their feedback,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh.
Powering the All-New Myvi are new 1.3 and 1.5 litre Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) engines. Equipped with Dual VVT-i, the engines are mated to either a five-speed manual transmission (MT) in the 1.3L variant or a four-speed E-AT automatic transmission (all variants).
These new NR engines powering the new Myvi come from the Daihatsu Perodua Engine Manufacturing plant in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan.
The All-New Myvi features Eco Idle, (1.3X, 1.5H and 1.5AV) whereby the engine automatically shuts off when the car is stopped and restarts when the brake pedal is released.
Along with aerodynamic improvements, these contribute towards fuel economy figures of 20.1 km/l for the 1.5 AT (Dual VVT-i).
“The All-New Myvi is the first Perodua model to have an upper body designed completely in-house.”
“That said, Daihatsu continues to assist and support Perodua in the areas of product planning, production planning, engineering and production among others, and continue to form an integral part of the whole project team,” Datuk Aminar said.
“Not only is this a testament to our technology partner Daihatsu’s confidence in our abilities, it also allows the car to be tailored to suit the needs and wants that are unique to Malaysians,” he added.
Five variants are on offer – 1.3 Standard G (MT), 1.3 Standard G (AT), 1.3 Premium X (AT), 1.5 High (AT) and 1.5 Advance (AT) – there is an All-New Myvi for every person, purse and purpose.
All variants get LED headlamps with ‘Follow Me Home’ function and headlamp levelling, Smart Entry with Push Start, a 60:40 folding rear seat and reverse sensors, making the driving experience more convenient and fuss-free.
The All-New Myvi is longer, lower and wider than its predecessor. It sits on alloy rims as standard, measuring 14 inches for 1.3 variants and 15 inches for 1.5 variants (with 2-tone finish).
With a 973 mm tandem distance (distance between front and rear passengers) ensuring lots of legroom, and an 8+1 flexible seating arrangement, the All-New Myvi adapts itself effortlessly to you and your family’s lifestyle.
The 1.5 High variant adds on sporty front and side skirts, a two-tone rear bumper, a rear spoiler and a built-in toll reader – a first for any Perodua car. Simply insert your Touch ‘n Go card into the reader and you’re good to drive through SmartTAG toll lanes.
The range-topping variant also gets Advanced Safety Assist (ASA), a suite of advanced safety features that comprises Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control. These systems operate through a forward-facing recognition camera located behind the rear-view mirror.
All Myvi variants get ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). 1.5 variants come with six airbags while four airbags are standard on 1.3 variants. A 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating is targeted.
“For the All New Myvi, we are targeting average monthly sales of 6,000 units for the first three months,” said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Dr Zahari Husin.
There are six colours available – Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple, Lava Red, Peppermint Green (new colour, 1.3 variants only) and Granite Grey (new colour, 1.5 variants only).
“We welcome the public to visit any of our sales outlets nationwide to learn more about the latest and most advanced member of the Perodua range and make your bookings,” Datuk Aminar said.
“The public may also catch a sneak preview of the new car at the Malaysia Autoshow held at the Malaysian Agro Exposition Park Serdang from 9 to 12 November,” he added.
